PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERNSHIP

Hey guys,

This is just a quick post to let you know I'm going to be uploading the blog posts I've been writing up for the fashion public relations company I've been working at as I think some of you may find them helpful if your looking for a career in fashion, pr or both! 😊

NARS HAUL

Hey everyone!

A few months back I was so excited to purchase my first Nars products and thought I'd do a little review on them.  I finally caved and tried out this brand as there was a discount code on ASOS (which is where I picked up all of these items!) and just couldn't resist. I'm such a sucker when it comes to sales on high end makeup, even when it's still ridiculously expensive. I think it just makes me feel slightly better about spending the cash haha.

First up is the Nars Sheer Glow foundation in the colour Punjab. I wish I had gone for a slightly darker shade as I think the colour Stromboli might have been a better match for the olive undertone in my fake tan, so I tend to use it when my fake tan is starting to wear off. Normally this foundation retails for £31 but I paid around £27 for it. My advice would be to wait until ASOS are offering a 20-30% discount code and you can save yourself some money! Or buy it from a store you can collect reward points on to spend at a later date.

When I first tried this foundation I thought it was really lovely but wasn't too sure if it was worth the price tag. It's the foundation I have on when I attended an MTV event in Glasgow (see previous posts) and by the time I got home it was sliding off my face, not the best look! I do have oily skin and had heard mixed reviews about this foundation for my skin type. I think that was one of the last times I wore it, but recently picked it up again and absolutely loved it (it's weird how your opinion on a product can completely change when you give it another chance eh?!)

This time round however I did pair it up with my smashbox pore minimising primer, powder and urban decay de slick setting spray, which I do with all my foundations. When I first tried it on again, I remember thinking my makeup looked realllyyyy different and couldn't figure out why, but it was down the foundation, it just looked so good! A friend of mine then popped into my work and commented on it asking what I was wearing which for me is a huge thumbs up and a real testiment to the product!

Firstly, the packaging is very sleek, and I love how simple Nars keeps all their products with their black and white theme but I am going to have a moan about the lack of a pump (just like everyone else seems to have had!) because at £31 it really should include this.

Apologies for the dirty cap, its been well used as of late!

It applies very smoothly and easily on the skin, I really like how it's a medium build able coverage but quite liquid-y. I just prefer that type of formula to to thick ones as they feel less heavy on the skin and aren't as likely to get cakey! I tend to use a flat top kabuki brush to stipple it on, but I've also used my real techniques miracle sponge which works just as well!

On longevity I do think it's really good, I do blot throughout the day but it doesn't leave me looking like an oil slick, it became more of a natural glow which I really like. Despite the foundation name it is definitely not a dewy foundation but I wouldn't say it was completely matte either (the 'glow' is pretty hard to describe!) Also when I wear it, it only sinks into my laughter lines slighty, which with some foundations is a real issue! So on that point I'm really happy with it.

I would only really recommend this foundation for those with normal to combo skin as dry skin types may find this clings to those pesky dry patches, as it did with me when I was a little to harsh with my skin over the winter using acne treatment.

Although this product was a definite splurge I'm glad I picked it up and would definetly repurchase it again! ❤️

Stay tuned for reviews on the duo eyeshadows and laguna bronzer! Oh, and I'm also waiting for one of their audacious lipsticks in the colour Racquel to arrive, so I'll be trying that out too.
